Animals

Raising homesteading animals is always an adventure and amazement to us. Nothing can beat being on hand to watch the baby goats being born or hatching out eggs in the incubator.  We finally had one chicken that went "broody" and hatched out her own clutch of eggs - two chicks survived. Our newest acquisition has been guinea and 2 geese, Pop and Millie. I have just fallen in love with the geese!

We try to do everything as naturally and organically as possible, so our animals are fed non-medicated feed and are not given antibiotics. Our animals stay healthy the natural way.

We sell our extra fresh eggs,  meat chickens and registered Nigerian Dwarf Milk Goats, which make excellent milk goats as well as pets.

The baby chick in the picture below is one the hen hatched out herself. Most of the others are ones we incubated from a prior flock. The chickens are in the "chicken palace", the covered chicken run part where they compost all of our scraps into the wonderful humus you see below.
